In the world of too much time on my hands, I give you the Big Dance of Kenosha Bars. I’ve picked the teams and gave them a seed. I tried to keep it relatively geographical and I’ve even added in some old favorites just because. The games will take place on the days in which the NCAA Tournament was to take place. Think of it in terms of two stacks of playing cards. For Round One, the 1 and 2 seeds will only share the number 7 in the 10’s column with the 15 and 16 seed. The 3 and 4 seed will share the numbers 6 and 7 in the 10’s column with the 13 and 14 seed. The 5 and 6 seed with share the numbers 6, 7 and 8 in the 10’s column with the 11 and 12 seed. And the 7 and 8 seed will share all numbers, 6,7,8 and 9 in the 10’s column with the 9 and 10 seed. This should allow for some upsets in the first round. After the first round, everyone is drawing from the same card pool. Example:
(1) Sunnyside v (16) Norms
Sunnyside has the numbers (playing cards) 7, 8 and 9 in the 10’s column to draw from and all 10 available in the 1’s column. Norms has the numbers 6 and 7 in the 10’s column and all 10 numbers in the 1’s column. If Sunnyside draws an 8 from the 10’s column and a 2 from the 1’s column, their score for that game is 82. Norms may draw a 6 from the 10’s column and a 9 from the ones column and would lose to Sunnyside 82-69 and Sunnyside moves on to the next round. After the first round, every team has the 6,7,8 and 9 in the 10’s column and all 10 numbers in the 1’s column and we go from there.
